Kevin Holmes is an executive, father, runner, and lifelong writer and limericist. A kiwi, Kevin was born and raised on a dairy farm in the country town of Tauranga, New Zealand. He has since lived and worked across the world, and now calls Melbourne in Victoria, Australia home. He is adored by his three adult children (a son and two daughters), as well as many extended family and friends who keenly await each new installment of his limericks.
Kevin has always had an indisputable talent and love for writing. He has taken this to the many places he has lived and worked, namely Dunedin, NZ; London, England; and Melbourne, Australia - where many of his friends have delighted in his ability to compose fond, happy memories into intelligent limericks. These have joyously gathered people together at social celebrations and events, such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, work functions, and of course, his children’s parties.
Professionally, Kevin is a chartered accountant and a respected leader in his field of clean energy. His deep global finance and operating expertise has given him more than 35 years of experience working for multi-national energy, resources, logistics and infrastructure companies.
Upon Melbourne becoming the unfortunate domain of one of the longest COVID-19 lockdowns in the world, Kevin found find the time and space to return to creating, taking the opportunity to focus particularly on his writing. Since 2020, he has written more than 50 installments of limericks. Series 1 offers poignant reflections on life in a locked-down state. Series 2 and 3 offer social commentaries on the latest global events (notably climate change and the war in Ukraine). His latest editions are part of an evolving Limericks in Life series; each a personal account of chapters of his extraordinary life.
Kevin’s first series of limericks has been published into a book. You can purchase a Limericks in Lockdown copy here or by emailing Kevin directly here.
